Step #6 – How “You Can Do It Windows” can help you with your DIY replacement window project”
At the beginning of each lesson I usually start with a paragraph of why people start the replacement window process but then eventually give up on it and wait until they can afford to have someone else install their windows. Well the main reason people quit is because they have no help or resources to help them through the process. They know that if they get half way through and get stuck, they will have no where to turn, and are basically on their own.
That’s why I started “You Can Do It Windows.” I wanted to create a resource for people that will help them replace their windows themselves, and make it easier for them to take on the process themselves, realizing if they do get stuck, they now have a resource to help them through to the end and completion of the project.
In this lesson, I will describe the services we offer, to help you begin and complete your do it yourself replacement window project. Some of our services are free, and some are chargeable, but help is always free. Any questions or concerns you ever have are always answered for free. We prefer you to e-mail us with your problem with pictures if possible. If you need to speak to someone, please put in your e-mail the best times to call you back.

SERVICE 1 – COMPARATIVE PRICE QUOTES
As discussed in Step Four, you can e-mail us a list of your windows. We will then price them out for you and give you an idea of what you should expect to pay for those windows. You can also e-mail us any quotes you have gotten from other window companies and we will price out the windows for you and let you know if they are fairly priced. This service is of course free to any of our Replacement Window Workshop enrollees. PRICE – $ FREE
SERVICE 2 – COMPLETE MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS
As discussed in Step Five, to provide measure instructions in e-mail format would be too difficult, there is simply too much information, to provide in the body of an e-mail. However, we do have complete measuring instructions available for purchase. These instructions will come as a PDF in an e-mail attachment. The Measuring Instructions will include photos, drawings, videos and detailed instructions on how to measure your windows correctly and make sure you get the right sized windows for your home. PRICE – $ 6.99

SERVICE 3 – COMPLETE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Also as discussed in Step Five, to provide installation instructions in e-mail format would be too difficult, there is simply too much information, to provide in the body of an e-mail. However, we do have complete installation instructions available for purchase. These instructions will come as a PDF in an e-mail attachment. The Installation Instructions will include photos, drawings, videos and detailed instructions on how to install your windows correctly and make sure the installation process goes smooth and your windows look great and work great after they are installed.
The Complete measuring instructions are a part of these installation instructions, so if you are purchasing these, you don’t have to purchase the measure instructions separately, they will come included in this package. The stand alone measuring instructions are for people who aren’t sure yet if they are going to install themselves, and just want to take the process a step further before they decide. As you can imagine, these instructions are much more complicated and the price reflects that fact. PRICE – $ 16.99

SERVICE 4 – MEASURE SERVICE
If you got the measurement instructions and you just want that extra peace of mind, you can have one of our installers come out and take your measurements for you. Our installers have years of experience measuring windows and can take your measurements for you. The best part of this service is we make sure the windows will come out right. If the window doesn’t fit after we take your measurements for you, then we will buy you a new window at our expense. Remember one mis-measured window can cost you three times this much. Not to mention, if you have 10-15 windows, ordering with the incorrect measurements can cost a small fortune, so if you feel the least bit leery about your measurements, call us and we’ll have a professional measure them for you. – PRICE – $ 139
SERVICE 5 – INSTALLATION SERVICE
That’s right if you get right down to it and feel you just don’t have the time, the tools or the patience to install your own windows, remember we’ll come out and finish up for you. Our installers can install all of your windows or just a few, either way, its up to you, we are here to make your replacement window job look great and be worry free during the process– PRICE – $ 179 PER WINDOW
SERVICE 6 – INSTALL CLASS
For those of you who have the tools, the time and the gumption to do it yourself, but would just like to see one done first, this is the best route for you. Our installation crew will come out to your home, install one window for you, teaching you and walking you through it step by step. At the end of the day you should feel confident enough to take on the rest of the windows yourself. – PRICE – $ 249
SERVICE 7 – WINDOWS SUPPLY
Yes, you can order your windows directly from us. We will send your windows out to you via common carrier. We wouldn’t be a full service do it yourself resource if we didn’t help provide you with the best quality windows at a fair price. Since we are committed to helping you replace your windows yourself and help you save money doing so, we encourage you to get comparative bids. If we can supply the windows for you, Great! If not, we are still here to help you with whatever you need regarding your replacement window project. – PRICE – BASED ON WINDOW SIZES AND WINDOW COUNT
I should also mention that if you purchase your windows from us, you can get the first 4 services for free. If you purchase the measure or installation instructions from us, and later decide to purchase your windows from us, we will give you a credit for the amount you spent on the instructions, so basically, you get the instructions for free. In fact if you order the instructions and later find out that you want us to come out and measure your windows for you, we will credit you the cost of the instructions as well.
In fact, any paid service from You Can Do It Windows will entitle you to a full credit for any instructions you may have purchased from us in the past. Also if you decide to purchase your windows from us, and you live in one of our service areas, we will come and measure your windows for you for free as well (139$ Value)
